The sixth Medway Sports Awards, Medway Council's annual celebration of sporting success took place on Friday the 6th November.

Vance Young scooped a Silver 'Coach of the Year' award and Medway Junior Badminton scooped a Bronze 'Junior Club of the Year' award. Vance has been a coach for over 25 years and is has been Head Coach at Medway Junior Badminton for many years.

Medway Junior Badminton now has more than 175 juniors, 25 of which are county players, and has continually strived to promote badminton in the community.

Daniel Groom, a player coached by Vance for a number of years, also scooped a Bronze 'Sportsperson of the year' award for his achievements in badminton. One such achievement was being part of the bronze-winning England international team who went to the European Badminton Championships in Milan.
